If you’re traveling to India from Sweden or Italy, you will need to obtain an Indian visa before you go. Visas are required by all foreign nationals traveling to India from outside of the country. While there are plenty of different types of Indian visas available, this article focuses on one in particular—the tourist visa (Visa-on-Arrival). You can apply for an Indian tourist visa from Italy or Sweden if you meet the requirements below. If you don’t meet these requirements, you may be eligible for other types of visas that do not require applications or approvals in advance.
Where to apply
Be sure you apply for your Indian visa at one of two places. If you’re applying from Sweden, head over to the Indian Embassy in Stockholm. If you’re applying from Italy, take a trip down to Rome. The process is similar in both locations, so don’t be too worried about making a choice. Each country requires something called Visa Processing Fees when they look at your application and decide whether or not they want to grant it. In most cases, getting your visa will require a little bit of paperwork and a couple passport photos—but it’s easier than it sounds! Indian Visa from Sweden
Who can apply?
The short answer is that you can apply if you are a citizen of Sweden or Italy. These two countries have special visa agreements with India, making it easier and more affordable for residents to obtain visas. It’s also easier because Swedish and Italian embassies are located in India, meaning they can process applications without having them sent back home. Since applications must be made in person, citizens of these two countries should schedule appointments as soon as possible. This ensures that visas will be ready when needed; there’s no guarantee they’ll be ready otherwise. You may also want to make plans well in advance if traveling during festivals like Diwali, New Year’s Eve, or Christmas — those occasions always see increased traffic at embassies and long delays waiting for appointments.
How to fill out the application form
Make sure you have filled out all fields on your application form. Most application forms ask for personal information such as your name, address, birth date, and contact details (telephone and email). There will also be information about your educational background, work experience, and whether you have previously applied for a visa. Some applications require a photograph of yourself. Read through your application carefully before you submit it to make sure it is complete. If there are questions that do not apply to you leave them blank as they may not be counted if they are left blank.
What you need with your application
You will need a recent passport-sized color photograph, a photocopy of your Indian passport, supporting documents, and visa fees. While applying from Sweden you need to fill in an application form that can be obtained at our office. The application form has details about supporting documents and visa fees. While applying for Indian Visa from Italy, you do not need any official form as all required information is listed in your travel confirmation letter issued by Agra Tourist Office India Ltd. Your name, purpose of visit and copies of flight tickets/reservation must be pasted on each page (ten pages) of such letter with a Copy written on the top right corner on each page.
What will happen after you apply
After you’ve filled out your Indian visa application, you’ll need to send it to a processing center in New Delhi, India. The application will be reviewed and if approved, a sticker with your passport number and date of entry will be affixed to your passport. You can then use that sticker as a visa stamp. Indian visas are valid for up to two months at a time; once they expire, you’ll have 30 days before you need another one.
